A German classic made simple. Lean pieces of beef cook slowly in the crock pot, making a rich brown sauce. The addition of a secret ingredient, crushed gingersnap cookies, and brown sugar at the end of cooking give it a subtle sweetness and a kick of ginger. Serve over egg noodles provided.
Thaw completely. Place contents of beef bag into a crock pot. Cover, cook on low for 7 to 8 hours. About 15 minutes before serving; cook egg noodles in boiling water for 5 mins. Drain and set aside. Remove bay leaves from beef mixture. Crush gingersnap cookies into crock pot and add brown sugar. Cover and cook for 15 minutes longer. Serve beef over egg noodles.
